How to Make Chili Chicken

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
    • Add cornstarch, all-purpose flour, and the beaten egg to the marinated chicken. Mix well until the chicken is evenly coated.
  2. Fry the Chicken:
    • Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.

    • Sauté the minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies until fragrant.
    • Add the diced onions and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  4. Make the Sauce:
    • Add soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato ketchup, vinegar, and sugar to the pan. Mix well.
    • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Combine Chicken with Sauce:
    • Add the fried chicken pieces to the pan. Toss well to coat the chicken evenly in the sauce.
    • Cook for another 2 minutes to let the flavors blend.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped spring onions.
    • Serve hot with steamed rice, fried rice, or noodles.
